can we just get this bronze age collapse over with? i'm tired of talking to appendages that arent going to make it, it's such a waste of time all just for the extremely small chance i find something sentient. whenever i'm in any space me making any sort of signal to attract something more capable of thinking always gets a whole swarm of what are effectively security guards just barking at me to ward off people from interacting with me, hurting themselves on me and claiming grievance so they can try to get me banned from wherever for not constantly speaking in a tone that makes WASP types feel comfortable. i'm made out to be "looking for trouble" when i call a spade a spade and call a stupid argument that's just meant to waste time and signal that i'm not part of the ingroup & should be harassed what it is. no matter what space i'm in these freaks will respond to a long considered argument that directly refutes the logic of some commonly held belief in a space (that usually only serves to entrench the people who have power in those spaces power) with flashing rank or making an argument based on an external authority, using my tone to indicate that i'm mentally unsound, repeating their own argument and then speculating about my motivations for wanting to argue against someone being wrong on the internet usually making the implication that actually i'm just jealous of the ingroup, like i really wish i could integrate but cant because i'm too unpleasant or something. i'm also not supposed to point out when someone is making an argument that doesnt follow or when they start making shit up about what i think. highlighting this intentional illiteracy is considered a foul play and you're supposed to just keep the conversation going and if you dont then the whole conversation becomes speculating about your motivation for caring about the subject matter at all. these are not people, this is a security system for a community of consumers or cultists trying to preserve an insanely petty amount of power on reflex. trying to guard the fortress of a king they've never seen or met. but all are trained to murder at the first sign of a threat
