I think you were right to make people conflating the theft of "art" (respect, community impact) with the devaluation of "content" (revenue, individual "prestige") the strongest part of your argument.
The impact of plagarism on a creative person's *will* to create can never be understated; only underlined.
also, the Blade video is my personal favorite.
