My first real introduction to Pool's content was Timbah on Toast's series about him. Timbah was quite diplomatic, I'd say (although still critical). I had to watch Emma Vigeland's showing in pieces it was so frustrating. Pool's rhetoric and prescriptions were peak "moderate centrism" in American culture. Vacillating more than an excited electron, equivocating, sometimes outright lying, downright disgraceful.
