The NYPD shot a Black man yesterday over not paying a $2.90 fare.
Four bystanders were also shot, including an innocent person shot in the head in critical condition.
And naturally the cops had a friendly fire incident injury a cop too boot.
The Gothamist has an article and while its well written and the situation seems quite serious they seem to fail to call this what it was...
A mass shooting attack on civilians carried out by the NYPD.
How does it make sense to escalate a fucking subway fare into a mass fucking shooting?

The NYPD sure doesn't care when certain people don't pay subway fare.
The innocent bystander, Gregory Delpeche, who was shot in the head over a $3 fare evasion is now brain damaged.
Update, this article initially indicated Delpeche was brain dead, they now report he has brain damage and remains in critical condition. He's been suffering brain swelling and under went cranial surgeries to keep it under control. The family indicates that he has brain damage and they don't know the full extent yet.
New Yorkers have been protesting the police shooting by hopping the turnstyles at subway stations and chanting "fuck the NYPD".
@nullagent THAT's more like it! The Palestinian flag is a nice touch too. This looks like it basically had a CD intention to it, as no serious attempts at unarrests were on this video at least. When it is intended that nobody will submit to arrest, it is necessary to be very fast and very forceful in resisting the cops
There's so many videos from significant actions popping up on all my socials it would appear multiple protests occurred through out multiple areas.
@nullagent @LukefromDC Multiple protests all over the place is the only reasonable reaction to people getting killed for 2.90.
@justafrog @nullagent Another good response would be for cops to be tackled by mobs every time they pull a gun in the subway against someone who didn't pull a gun first.
These cops are cowards too: about a year and a half ago, video emerged of an incident in an unstated subway system where someone fell on the tracks, and a cop stood there watching as bystanders rescued him, one of them jumping down onto the tracks at considerable risk to get him out. One of the people in the crowd called out the cowardly cops, saying "you see that you motherfucking pig?"
@LukefromDC @justafrog @nullagent
This is not great advice because armed police will absolutely respond with deadly force to that kind of thing and it's unrealistic to expect people to throw themselves in the way of cop bullets.
Jumping turnstiles to protest police violence is a practical response because it pushes back against the rent-collecting institution the police were supposedly defending with that violence and makes it their problem.

Not if you're white.
@nullagent @fishidwardrobe @petealexharris @LukefromDC @justafrog cops kill more white people than any other race there isn’t some kind of force field protecting white people from state violence
@nullagent @petealexharris @justafrog @LukefromDC @heretical_i @fishidwardrobe of course it’s not per capita but do you think trying to take a cops gun is something people can just do because they’re white?
White people are infinitely more likely to survive an armed confrontation with the police. All you have to do is read a newspaper to see that @destroy
Ps. Your handle, "destroy" informs me you're probably a cop, or a 12 year old. Muted. @LukefromDC @nullagent
