saw a blog called "against the grain" and got so excited to see someone talk about James C Scott's book of the same title and instead it was just a fascist posting anti trans nonsense

@exiliaex Scott's Seeing like a State was what made me go from general libertarian socialist to full on anarchist, I have to go back and read more of his stuff 🙏

@asciiexe yeah that book is excellent and i absolutely recommend it to others all the time. Against the Grain is smaller, but its good. my only gripe is that it retreads a lot of the same territory of Seeing Like a State

@exiliaex that seems both extremely disappointing and somehow exactly what you'd expect in this timeline. Honestly the book looks awesome, i'm adding it to my reading list

@jonni the book is excellent, though, my higher recommendation from that author is Seeing Like A State, it's larger and covers some of the same topics but it goes much more in depth.

@exiliaex Thank you so much, i'll pick up both of them!
