@agreedyboi fucked up that the angle is "you have no power! give up! other people deserve to make the decisions, the best we can do is try to influence them"

i subscribe to something a little more like "There Will Be No More October Revolutions - revolutionary power isn't masses of guys with guns barricading legislatures or executive-offices, but is instead immanent and self-organized experimentation with new and emergent possibilities in setting the terms of our own lives"

@exiliaex i subscribe to the first part defo ""There Will Be No More October Revolutions - revolutionary power isn't masses of guys with guns barricading legislatures or executive-offices" but the rest i'd say i only vaguely would say i support in a sense that i support it generally but concreatly not too sure what that'd look like outside some of the things i've seen with technology being used as a bridge between people.

When i see people say "revolutions will not happen" i do point them towards historical examples such as the irish war of independence, where before 1916 there was very little support for an irish state which was independent from the empire and wanted moreso a dominion like canada... but once the 1916 rising happened it failed but the British response of oppression basically turned the tide. Suddenly two years or so later, Sinn Fein later would win by a landslide all across ireland. That basically would fuel the war of independence. Everything wasn't possible in 1914 was made possible in 1918 basically.

Honestly you could go on and on about how this attitude is wrong and we're currently on an all time low in terms of communist organisation and etc and people should be way more optimisitc but it's really hard to convince people that there is a better world that currently exists but is locked in chains by capitalism. It's so frustrating because in part, the reason people think like this is a result of communist organisations too.

@exiliaex it's almost like history isn't this static thing woaww
