spent most of the day taking down and cleaning up a big tree branch so i havent even finished gathering the grass i cut yesterday, got a big splinter from the rake and decided to call it good for the day lol. on the upside i got a new brushpile going, hoping that's good habitat for the bunnies around here, i should hopefully have something planted out around there for them sometime next year
got shit planted, only was able to get the chips on top of the areas we planted out but wanna finish the rest up soon. got a bunch of the grass mowed but i'm going to have to finish collecting it for the compost in the morning and also finish mowing a few areas. should have a ton of material for the pile. more plans to keep a specific section of the grass long but this time with a plan for seasonal harvest as a way to give treats for the cows while still keeping it as novel habitat for most of the year. have a lot of clay dirt fill to work with once we clear off some brambles off of it, could start using that for earthworks stuff to help keep water on the land longer, though i need to see how water moves here in the rainy/wet season.
everywhere i talk about shit i'm constantly getting cried at for my tone when really the issue is disagreement and telling people when they havent made an argument instead of giving myself a christian concussion and making up an argument for them and then arguing against that to pretend they arent retarded for the audience so their ego doesnt get inflamed. trying to keep someone to a consistent argument leads to "bro why do you care so much, you're just being negative/deranged/threatening" whether i'm talking about wow, cardgames or the abolition of property as if caring too much about the things you've made important to you is an indictment to anyone but zombies who're all trying to show off how much they hate being alive to each other
i literally cant even have strong deckbuilding opinions on a random website without people who understand the deck less than me screaming at me for submitting a decklist with notes that argue for building my deck "unconventionally" and arguing with someone who said that deck was "inconsistent" when it's incredibly consistent if you know how to use the pieces and only bricks when you build it conventionally, treating it like a normal 1-2 card combo deck and stuffing it full of power spells/traps that lead you to brick. they illustrated multiple times in the convo that they didnt know basic lines that you'd play either going turn 1 or through interruption that would have made it more consistent and they were told by someone on reddit that you need to stuff all decks with as many of those power spell/trap tech cards because every deck needs tech cards to keep up with the meta or something even though that's really only a good rule for tournaments or decks that have a ton of space for tech. the deck i'm arguing about is a balls to the wall combo deck and it's not capable of keeping up with tournament decks full stop so you're really only thinking about playing it on the ladder you're just going to lean into it's strengths as a deck with 3/3.5 card combos with almost any combination of 3-4 cards in the deck instead of a really lackluster 1-2 card combo deck that still can stop the most common deck on ladder because when you're rocking 3-5 of these cards in hand you have the ability to play through multiple pieces of disruption and still nuke the board, then go for lethal. your worst hands will still clean house on the bad decks that populate the ladder and your best get you through all but specific counters. for having strong thoughts on this and writing them on my decklist where i explain the reasoning for my decks construction, a friend of the guy i argued against acted like i left comments in my decklist that i'd submitted before i'd ever talked to his friend specifically for his friend and then after being told that that was not the case just tried to bitch at me seemingly for just disagreeing with how other people built the deck, treating my like i was deranged for ever caring to have an opinion, that i'm "just being negative" for bringing up a narrative that ran counter to some thought terminating memes about deckbuilding from reddit
got the dirt down in the garden but it happened late cause i took a long nap after getting back from digging it up so i didnt have the time to plant anything. gonna figure all that out tomorrow and then get the chips on top of them. after that it's mowing some long grass for the compost pile and then taking care of the brambles around the sprinklers and a few other spots, then collecting manure then clearing a bunch of green material from an overgrown walking path, then the pile is basically at where i want it to be. will prob soak it with the pond water to see if i can get things going faster. if i can get to the grass tomorrow i can put in some decent paper/cardboard we've got laying around. after the compost i wanna try to get some trees planted out up at the top of the pasture then start working on the ground by the compost pile and getting the pond area more prepared
@ZiaNitori we just gotta uhhhhhhhhhh make nuclear plants, never mind they take like a decade to become operational and cost a lot of material (cost both the number of materials as well as the financials of it) for a resource that has to be mine (and dont' worry, it will be 100% unethically sourced)
Solar panels and wind are bad because uhhh birds I dont give a shit about but I will pretend I do die sometimes, but also let's build skyscrapers
went to a cool community run workshop on solar panels the other day in a different part of cali when phoenix was up and i asked good questions so i got a cool portable solar charging thing. it was mostly stuff i already knew but getting clarification on some electrical stuff i forgot about from nuke school was nice. one of the guys there ended up making the point that "there's no such thing as alternative energy" and started talking about how the energy that goes into making panels and other stuff exceeds the energy you get out of them and talked about the other environmental effects from the extraction involved and it's so fucked up that i can like count on one hand the number of twitter communists whose egos allow them to comprehend that really basic fact because most of them are just authoritarian technocrats
it's really clear that the person who's writing the paladin *tanking* guide doesnt understand what threat is and values damage over threat so they can maximize their personal parse at the detriment of their entire raid groups. really hope that in classic plus the devs make it entirely impossible for this kind of person to exist, threat should be a real mechanic that everyone has to pay attention to, not just the people at the highest end. how the tank decides to gear and whether they prioritize threat over mitigation should significantly change how a raid feels and there shouldnt be a single tank that thinks about how much dps they're doing because that makes no fucking sense
the pile of pine needles we moved into the compost on top of all the woody material was already partially decomposing so we basically turned an already existing compost pile on top of the compost pile we're trying to start, this should get things started a lot faster and we havent even got the big mass of green material and cow manure in there yet, very exciting
moving brush out from the field to the compost makes it pretty clear i'm going to have a lot more woody material than the compost will be able to break down which is good because i want to make a lot of brush piles for habitat but it kinda messes with how i pictured things would go in terms of what order i'm doing different things in. i want to make sure all of that stuff can get covered in manure and greener stuff so it can be broken down better and i wasnt planning on getting that stuff up until i got more brambles up which while they start green they get woody quite quick if left uncovered. might have to jump back and forth between working on the lawn and clearing out brambles and then save the manure and clearing out a path through an overgrown area for last
cant wait for phoenix to get here so he can help me think of a ton more projects i can overwhelm myself with lmao
i should have all the grapes in the pasture watered by tomorrow morning and i would've liked to get the set of grapes i threw in the garden covered better with another layer of soil but they've at least been getting watered consistently. still have the jar of mostly seeds that i need to get cleaned off in the fridge chilling in there to do some cold stratification stuff and i'll try to get them started in mason jars or something in like 3 months and then plant whatever comes up when it gets warm out. still need to figure out how to get the irrigation lines for the existing vines working before the water goes off for the season. got the weedwhacker working with some blades on it instead of the normal line to help buzz down some overgrown areas for more composting material, will be nice to help access to the grapes and growing area behind the pond and for some of the nastier sections of brambles. also wanna get the lawn mower going to take down a few overgrow areas so i can rake them up for a lot of green material
had to wait on the dirt a bit (should be getting it done tomorrow when phoenix is over) and had to work on fixing the pool, gonna work on getting more stuff into the compost pile in the meantime and joe said it was cool for us to steal the chips and some other brush laying around the shed so that's cool. we gotta get a new isp as soon as we can so i can start raiding again in wow and we dont get weird outages. still need a couple more desks and chairs as well so alie and i arent sharing the same desk/screen and kammy doesnt have to be hooked up to the tv lol
got all the soil spread out, gonna try to pick up another layer with kammy tomorrow i think. if i'm able to fit more than i did last time i might dig up another section to get all the roses covered. noticed a big chip pile that might be able to cover most of not all of the garden chilling out behind the carshed and want to get that over to cover the soil. would like to make more progress on the compost before phoenix gets here but i'll at least have the front garden ready for planting after getting the brambles up and the compost going i want to get some holes for the trees that joe wants planted out up at the top of the place and wanna see if there's any tweaks i can make to the irrigation system or get some kind of watering schedule worked out if i cant. after that i should have more info about chips and planting more trees in the pasture and will either work on that stuff or start working on the area near the compost piles or get trellises up for the grapes
it's at worst dated. his dismissiveness and jokeyness around the subject works to lure in the type of degens that play VNs that require a tsundere, kuudere, genki girl, deredere, and trap to actually take the trap seriously and not just treat like a weird fetish route.
i think if you think ruka's arc in steins;gate is transphobic you have poor media literacy skills, are blinded by insecurity or have a really trivial definition of transphobia. okabe's whole fucking arc with her is going from being dismissive of her to not only seeing her as a girl but someone he could absolutely have romantic interest in. this kind of arc of not really connecting or respecting the other people around him to taking them seriously is a constant theme in the show with all of the girls that okabe interacts with in the show. you'd have a better argument that the rest of the gendered stuff in the show carries more transphobic baggage than this. ig there is an option that you could just be unaware that japanese doesnt have second person pronouns and are confused by some shitty subs sending mixed messages about that conclusion but there's still not really a way to miss him saying he promises to never forget her as a girl no matter what world line they're in
grinding to disappear
