so alie helped me put to words something about the pokemon game i want to capture. the really horrifying thing about living in a totalitarian world is precisely what is normal and every shitty dystopia book needs to include elements of things that arent normal to the societies they exist in for the average reader to even realize something is wrong. this is fucking lazy and a cop out and doesnt actually help people realize how fucked the world around them is, instead looking at the difference and thanking History that things arent like that. so i think the real way to show how horrifying things are is to make the society pretty normal, but have it contrast with something better. as said before, i really like the idea that orangutans can speak, they just dont so they dont get made to work and one of the strongest ways to signpost to that there's something wrong in this game will be pokemon being able to talk with/interact with the player more in the beginning of the game which isnt properly civilized and wont talk at all in the later sections of the game. that should signpost to the slow players that there's something wrong without running into the issues stated before. there's a lot of other things though that will just keep changing as the player gets closer and closer to the heart of the beast, stuff like people generally being more fearful and lazy, the selection of wild pokemon changing, eventually turning into only trainer battles at some point in the places that are almost completely paved over, and the introduction of the money resource in the mid-game as a replacement for a more interesting resource system that isnt universally exchangeable combined with a noticable change in behavior of vendors and adjacent things to show the violence behind the transaction.

progress on singing finally, reading has pretty expectedly fallen to the side while sunshine is over but it's not been too had to keep chipping away at it in the morning, though i need to read a little faster if i want to finish in time for colin's group on society must be defended. small chance i'm in the 150's by the time phoenix comes over but regardless of my weight i'm going to look like a god lmao

but it can be thought of as a closed loop, who knows what sorts of simple life existed and thrived off of geological oddities like this and even if none were able to with this particular feature that doesnt mean that life wont eventually find a way to make that kind of habitat home. the world could be designed to be such an incredibly interesting place for life to evolve but instead we seem to be interested in killing ourselves and everything else

the form of "harassment" that i would imagine works the best is acting really cavalier in the face of crybully shit. these unconscious cristofascists worship pity and by signaling you dont respect technically sympathetic distress signs you signal that fascists arent welcome. picking at the fucking disgusting ways they infantilize women and fems is also another way to set off their alarms as well

wild that in the middle of everyone cheering "be gay do crime" i get arrested for burglary while trying to save my house and i got crickets in response. now everytime i mention i'm a felon these same people ask me if i'm a pedophile. they cheer when the state harasses and slaughters people they dont like and yet no one questions the idea that these people are here to fight for classlessness. we act as if flying the communist/radical flag means that the mechanisms for ideological control simply didnt hold sway over a person but any genuinely radical person knows that to see the world in a radical way, something substantial had to change or grow in them and there's always more to unpack, new ways to free yourself from everything you were burdened with. the people who just come in and ape the language without changing themselves have completely the same politics as reactionaries when push comes to shove with some minor aesthetic differences and they should be harassed out of any seriously radical space

the people who showed up for lynchings and executions never went away, they've always been here for the show and the demonstration of their supremacy

moralfags are constantly on the lookout for evil and wrongdoing because showing up for the mob, showing up for the kill is their reward. they're genuinely the most nightmarish and wretched creatures in existence anyone who hunts them is a hero

thinking of mostly staying off twitter except for the workout thread. just had to watch a bunch of people who've called me a fascist froth at the mouth on the discovery that someone i considered a friend is dead after harassment from the state. i've never had anything in common with this fucking swine and i've known it since i was a kid
