@vriska you don’t need to pay medical debt they can’t garnish your wages for medical debt

@destroy Saipan, and it's pay before being seen at walk in clinics and the one time I did go to the ER here they were about to not let me leave without paying at least a portion of the bill

luckily im going to have medicaid here in a week or something but im bleeding internally right now lmao

@vriska that sucks so bad i feel for anyone living in a US territory it’s all the downsides of the US with none of the upsides

@destroy oh no there are a billion upsides here. this place is better than the USA in every way imaginable except for this specific one. I love it here. the internet also kinda sucks admittedly

@destroy for example only taking 2 weeks to get medicaid as opposed to 60 days or whatever I had to wait in IL. culturally its so different in a much nicer and friendlier way. I can get a weeks worth of groceries for 20 dollars. random filipino men give me delicious fried banana snacks for free. I rent a two bedroom apartment for 650 a month

@vriska 60 days for medicaid is insane you get it in like less than a week here in Oregon

@destroy yeah between my application and getting approved in IL the first time it took me 56 days of waiting lmao

@vriska ah my bad. I’ve only known people from American Samoa and Puerto Rico and they said they sucked.

@destroy everyone here is poor and stuff but there's practically zero crime and everyone is genuinely really friendly and the sense of community is incredibly strong. having a population of 40,000 might be part of that. its like living in a town thats also a country
