hmm. we don’t think “kylr” has no place being said ever but it has certainly been widely taken up by the worst kind of self-appointed internet sex moralizers.

idk. like we first saw that term being used by actual rape victims trying to do shit about the serial rapists in their actual irl communities but then people just started using it to posture online. and it feels hard to make room for the original sentiment while also making it clear we’re not trying to be the porn police or whatever

@dangerdyke my issue is that people see a “kill your local pedophile” or “kill your local drug dealer” on the back of a pickup truck and are able to be like “hey I don’t think this is quite right” but if you replace it with rapist all of a sudden it’s completely different?

re: kylr discourse

@destroy i guess in our view context is everything. like yeah in the examples you give its cis dudes doing machismo virtue signaling about conservative dogwhistles. and in many cases yeah KYLR is tenderqueers virtue signaling about transmisogynist/SWERF dogwhistles. but it comes off very differently to us when it comes from people who are actually dealing with rapists in their communities (not online trannies with fucked up kinks or whatever)
