How have I been able to consistently write like 40 pages of lecture notes a week for the past 7 weeks, but when it comes to my dissertation, I'm lucky if I manage like a single paragraph a week?

@athousandgateaux ugh, i feel this so hard. for some reason my brain can focus just fine on everything except for the things i actually want to focus on.
