@oliphant i don't think there's crypto involved? so far what i saw was plans for a subscription service similar to discord nitro (i.e. being able to upload bigger, higher quality videos/images, but not getting preference in algorithm) and trying to work out a payment service so that people can pay for individual's content. like a "tip jar" on people's accounts.
perhaps i missed the crypto announcement tho

so it doesn't look like they're looking to integrate that kind of tech rn.

again, this doesn't seem to be implying crypto focus, but its certainly possible they move towards that in the future.
something about the decentralized nature of the protocol is that it *seems* like, even if the currently central servers went forward with crypto stuff, it'd still be possible to make your own without crypto integration? perhaps i'm wrong on that, though.

@exiliaex They are looking to monetization. That's how it starts, and considering their partners, I have suspicions about the kind of 'monetization' they are talking about.
