"Transphobia" doesn't even properly summarize what I + so, so many of my peers experience every day now; it's so much more than just vague fear or low-level prejudice.

Deluge of slurs, death threats, false accusations of vile sexual crimes.

and I know its only going to get worse in the forseeable future. I wish I had an answer as to how to survive it. I wish I knew how to make myself more resistant to it, but I'm already one of the most numb-to-transphobia trans people I know.

What a mess of a situation. What a mess of a society.

I'd genuinely love to never talk about this shit anymore, but that would require me to stop *experiencing* it constantly.

@DemonMama People, on average, are just kinda assholes tbh. Not very cool of them to wanna kill us, not very poggers at all. No, but really, things are getting dire and I don’t have any way of escaping to a better state than Kentucky or moving away, I’m fuckin’ 15. A lot more people are out there like me, when I went to high school I noticed several kids with trans pins on their bags, there are so many people like me, who are stuck and can’t get help. It makes it really hard to find motivation tbh, the only thing keeping me going is the future generations of trans people like us, we need to make the world a safe place for lgbt people, because no matter how hard they try, we’re always gonna be around.

@FawnOverFun you have your whole life ahead of you. you are part of the future generation. if we fight like hell, its your future we will be able to make better, mostly. you’re young enough to live a full life in that better future, so long as we can beat this surge of evil trans hatred.

@FawnOverFun @DemonMama

it helps to remember that change is inevitable. Now whether that will be good change or bad change, I don't know, but even the very worst things can't last forever. Life itself IS change. And that's why they will always inevitably fail. Together, we are stronger than their fear and hatred.

@DemonMama And I can only see it getting worse for us :(

@DemonMama I've been having it dumped on me today by "allies" telling me I'm an asshole who's transphobic- for pointing out transphobia and calling it out as unacceptable. I want a death ray.

@DemonMama In fragile and violent times like these, I think of the activists and ideological torch-bearers before us who inspire us and the children before us. Particularly, of the late Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld and his hope for a better world; we may be divorced from him through time but the ideological battles of old remain the same. For those who’ve never seen it, enjoy DM’s account of Magnus Hirschfeld’s fight for queer rights only 100 years ago:

@DemonMama It's nearly paralyzing realizing how inhuman those narrow-minded people fanning the flames of suffering are. No hope for dialogue and always concern about the most unstable among them.
However much the system seems to be incapable of supporting what's right, ancient wisdom says there is no favoritism shown between the high and low, and the Way will always be found near the good.

@DemonMama If I'm being super honest I feel like it's either people who are so vitriolic and cruel towards us or its people who are just silent and pretty much allow the violence to continue, even though there are allies out there who want to actually fight for trans rights I still feel like most people just don't say anything and it's so sad to see where these conditions will lead to.

The slogan "Silence = Death" from the aids crisis needs to make a serious comeback in terms of the trans community with how the right is attacking us and trying to systematically destroy us. While many who are "neutral" or self-proported allies are simply not saying anything at all or just accepting it as the norm, it really is so frightening and anxiety producing seeing where this will take us to.....

I can only hope that we can survive by living as a community and helping each other out, I feel that's the only way we'll survive this hatred and destruction.
