@vriska yeah one good thing about Oregon and Washington is that we have a really big river with a bunch of huge dams on it making our electricity very cheap

@destroy one of my neighbors uses a portable gas burner in her house instead of the electric range because it's apparently cheaper to buy butane

@anemone @destroy I hate electric stoves too, so much, I cook better on gas

@anemone @vriska I don’t blame you. I love my gas range the temperature control is much better

@destroy @anemone @vriska they take forever to heat. Just give me flame, I'm caveman

@vriska@lizards.live @destroy@masto.anarch.cc those little butane burners aren't expensive. highly recommended if you can get one

@anemone @destroy yeah it would certainly be easier for me to make good noodle with gas...

@vriska @anemone sometimes good noodle is worth 1200ppm CO2 indoors…

@anemone @vriska levels over 1000ppm are known to cause decreased cognitive ability. ASHRAE (ventilation & refrigeration professional org) recommends CO2 levels indoors shouldn’t exceed 1100 ppm. CO2 levels aren’t just bad by themselves but are also a good indicator of how well-ventilated a space is and how clean the air is.

@vriska@lizards.live @icedquinn@blob.cat @destroy@masto.anarch.cc ive seen wok grates for charcoal grills. I've thought about getting one since it'd be the easiest way to get restaurant stove level heat but it'd only be usable outside lol

@vriska jesus that’s shitty. I don’t recommend you do that because of the CO and CO2 tbh
