is there a technical limitation preventing a version of mastodon that would let you select from a list of known instances to federate with per post?
@exiliaex like a Twitter circle or the Facebook privacy settings? Probably possible if someone made it
@exiliaex you can already use DMs for federating with certain accounts only so no reason it couldn't be possible for instances
