@Fullnihilism@kolektiva.social that's exactly what i was thinking; a lot of mastodon requires a lot of people to know *too* much about how it all functions on the backend. people need good, simple entry points to federated social media.

@Fullnihilism@kolektiva.social so, there are a lot of different clients that run a lot of different protocols for federating.

mastodon and pleroma (and akkoma and others) use activity pub, bluesky uses AT Protocol.

there are some clients that publish to multiple protocols (BookWyrm uses ActivityPub *and* OStatus, Friendica uses ActivityPub, OStatus, and Diaspora Network)

I've considered trying to build something along those lines, that can publish to (and read from) multiple protocols, and thus, interact with multiple different "kinds" of fediverse networks at the same time, blending them into one for my purposes.
