“Luana Ross's study of Native American women incarcerated in the Women's Correctional Center in Montana argues that "prisons, as employed by the Euro-American system, operate to keep Native Americans in a colonial situation/'87 She points out that Native people are vastly overrepresented in the country's federal and state prisons. In Montana, where she did her research, they constitute 6 percent of the general population, but 17.3 percent of the imprisoned population. Native women are even more disproportionately present in Montana's prison system. They constitute 25 percent of all women imprisoned by the state.”

I cannot keep this to myself. There is a website (radio.garden) where you can listen to radio stations all over the world for free. No log in. No email address. Nothing.

When the site loads, you are looking at the globe. Slide the little white circle over the green dots (each green dot is a radio station) until you find one you like.

I have been listening to this station in the Netherlands and it absolutely slaps.

EDIT: Replies tell me that this doesn't function in the UK without a VPN.

Tired: we live in a society

Wired (on crack/Whitehead): any collection of actual entities and eternal objects is a society. Therefore life itself is a society just as much if not more than "we".

@exiliaex a rly good book i was reading was about this, and it was p good tbh amazon.co.uk/States-Liberation

Basically, it talks about both west/east germany and how these laws compare, plus explains the years before and after. I'd definitely recommend.

Did you know that the law banning homosexuality in Germany that the Nazis used to start their persecution of queers was founded in 1532, under the Holy Roman Empire, as described in the Constitutio Criminalis Carolina.

Did you know that law stayed on the books til 1994?

i'm gonna have to start reading Heidegger soon, i think. my Agamben readings have gotten to the point that all serious interlocutors want to discourse about Agamben with Heidegger as the playing field.
